Amazing GC Cold Weather Hot Chocolate Recipe

Baby it’s cold outside! Bundle up and toast the season at Grand Colonial Bed and Breakfast for the best hot chocolate in Central New York.  And just in case you can’t join us, we’re sharing our recipe so you can  enjoy a delicious mugful of decadent, freshly-whipped hot chocolate at home.   Just be sure to use at least a 15-ounce size mug, because all this deliciousness won’t fit in anything smaller.


2 servings of your favorite hot chocolate mix

¼ cup of half and half

¼ cup of Reddi-wip Original Whipped Cream (Plus a little extra for topping off your mug)

2 table spoons of Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup

Boiling hot water (enough to fill your mug)

Marshmallows (optional)



Empty 1 ½ servings of your favorite hot chocolate mix into your mug (Save the remaining mix)

Bring the water to a full boil

Add the Reddi-wip, half and half, and Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup to the hot chocolate mix and stir to combine

Add the boiling water and carefully mix with the other combined ingredients

Top off your mug with at least ½-inch of Reddi-wip Original Whipped Cream

Dust the Reddi-wip Original Whipped Cream topping with some of the remaining hot chocolate mix

Drizzle Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup on top of the Original Whipped Cream topping

Place your mug on a saucer/plate to avoid extra cleanup.
