Fellow Travelers at Glimmerglass: Two Final Performances and a 2-for-1 Ticket Code

If you have been waiting for a reason to finally see an opera at the Alice Busch Opera Theater, this is it. Fellow Travelers, the acclaimed modern opera behind the Paramount+ limited series starring Jonathan Bailey, has just two performances left at the 2026 Glimmerglass Festival: August 10 and August 16. And the Festival is sweetening the deal with a buy-one-get-one ticket offer — use code TRAVELERBOGO at checkout on glimmerglass.org or by phone at the Box Office, (607) 547-2255.

What Fellow Travelers is about

Set in 1950s Washington during the Lavender Scare, Fellow Travelers follows two men drawn into a secret relationship under the constant threat of exposure — forbidden love, political intrigue, and the long fight to live authentically. Composer Gregory Spears premiered the opera at Cincinnati Opera in 2016, and this production brings back Joseph Lattanzi, who created the role of Hawkins Fuller in that world premiere, alongside tenor Colin Aikins as Tim. Critics have singled out both performances, and the opera itself has become one of the most-produced American operas of the past decade. Its signature line — “Living. Why don’t you try it?” — tells you the register: intimate, urgent, and deeply human.

The details

Two performances remain: August 10 and August 16, 2026, at the Glimmerglass Festival, 7300 State Hwy 80, Cooperstown. Tickets at glimmerglass.org or (607) 547-2255; the TRAVELERBOGO code applies a free second ticket when you purchase one — ideal for bringing a friend or making it a date night. The entire 2026 Festival season closes August 17, so this is also one of your last chances at any Glimmerglass production this year; our closing-weeks guide covers everything still on the calendar.
