Glimmer Nights 2026 at Fenimore Farm: Dates, Tickets and Where to Stay

Glimmer Nights, the after-dark holiday light show at Fenimore Farm & Country Village in Cooperstown (the museum formerly known as The Farmers’ Museum), returns for 2026. The 19th-century village is lit from end to end, with lighted tunnels across the Tavern Green, a 12-foot snowman, a herd of lighted animals, the famous Mega Chicken in the barnyard and a 17-foot combine harvester that kids can climb, with a photo platform at the top. It is one of the best winter evenings out in Central New York, and Grand Colonial in Herkimer is 30 minutes away.

Tickets are sold by entry time, so buy them online in advance from the Glimmer Nights page. A limited number of walk-in tickets are sold until 7:00 pm when space allows. Tickets are non-refundable, but the museum lets you change your date and time if there is space.
Theme nights worth planning around
- November 21 and 22: opening weekend, with 30 Community Christmas Trees in the main barn to vote on
- November 27 and 28: Holiday Market Nights, with twenty makers and vendors (market opens at 3:00 pm)
- December 5 and 6: Dickens Nights, with period performers and roasted chestnuts
- December 10 to 13: Wassail Nights, with free wassail made with Fly Creek Cider Mill cider
- December 19 and 20: Solstice Nights, with traditional crafts and a bonfire
- Every Sunday except December 27: Sundays with Santa by the fire in Bump Tavern, included with admission
- Every Saturday except December 26: Courtyard Nights, with a fire pit, food truck and bar
Carousel rides are free, and Crossroads Café serves hot chocolate. Bring non-perishables for the sleigh at the main barn entrance: donations go to the Cooperstown Food Pantry.
Tips for your visit
- Dress for outdoors. It is a walking tour on paths that can be muddy, icy or snowy, so wear warm layers and good boots.
- Pick an early entry time with young children. The 4:30 and 5:00 pm slots get you home, or back to your room, at a sensible hour.
- Make a weekend of it. A Friday or Saturday evening at Glimmer Nights pairs well with a slow morning and a day in Cooperstown or the Mohawk Valley.
